Pepper Seared Ahi Tuna with Ginger Soy Sauce (Serves 2) |

Ingredients: 2 each fresh Ahi tuna filets 2 tablespoons coarse black pepper, ground 2 tablespoons olive oil Method: Brush tuna with olive oil and sprinkle each side with pepper. Cook in a non-stick skillet over high heat - 2 minutes per side for rare, 4 minutes per side for medium. Set aside. Ginger Soy Sauce: 1 cup soy sauce ½ cup rice wine vinegar ½ cup white wine (may substitute water) ¼ cup pickled ginger, sliced ¼ cup honey 2 tablespoons sesame seeds, toasted 1 tablespoon corn starch 2 tablespoons water Method: Combine all ingredients except for cornstarch, in a sauce pan. Simmer for 15 minutes. Dissolve cornstarch in 2 tablespoons water. Add cornstarch mixture to sauce, simmer 5 minutes. Pour over tuna filets. ««« Back to Recipe Search page |
