Tuna Ahi Barbecued with Ginger Soy Sauce (Serves 2) |

Ingredients: 2 fresh Ahi tuna filets 2 tablespoons olive oil salt and pepper to taste Method: Brush filets with olive oil and season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook on the barbecue according to your preference: ~ 2 minutes per side for rare ~ 4 minutes per side for medium rare ~ 6 minutes per side for well-done Ginger Soy Sauce: 1 cup soy sauce 1/2 cup rice wine vinegar 1/2 cup white wine (may substitute water) 1/4 cup pickled ginger, sliced 1/4 cup honey 2 tablespoons sesame seeds, toasted 1 tablespoon corn starch 2 tablespoons water Method: Combine all ingredients except for cornstarch, in a sauce pan. Simmer for 15 minutes. Dissolve cornstarch in 2 tablespoons water. Add cornstarch mixture to sauce, simmer 5 minutes. Pour over tuna filets. ««« Back to Recipe Search page |
